Why does my start screen say pin is not available and when i try and sign in i am told my password is incorrect even though i know for a fact it is be

I reset my password today when i discovered as i was at the start screen that my pin wasn’t available. I realized this was a result of a clean boot which i had done. When i tried to log into my microsoft account every attempt i had said that my password was incorrect even when i had reset it and tried multiple times.
