Why does my ping spike super high or I lose internet connection when I connect my ps4 controller to my pc?

Hello, whenever I connect my ps4 controller to my pc, all of a sudden everything is super laggy. For example, my ping in discord will spike up to 1200-5000 whenever I connect my controller. I can not connect to the servers of some games I am trying to play because the internet connection is so bad.
