Why does my pc keeps crashing?

For about a week now, my pc crashes everytime I try to use it. It starts up normally, and I let it run for a few minutes, but when I start to play a game or even open a simple app like Chrome or files it tends to crash or freeze. Most of the times, after crashing, my pc turns itself on and off quickly, and then boots up after a few minutes. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Event viewer only tells me that my pc was not shut down properly
