Why does my brightness not change? And why will my laptop not update?

I tend to play games at night and adjust brightness accordingly, but I tried installing the update (2025-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems) and now neither my brightness slider nor my F5/F6 keys are working. I've experienced similar issues and typically restarting, shutting down, or sleep mode will work to fix it. I have tried all of these things and the bright remains at max. I'm not sure if it's also to do with every time I press "Restart Now" for this update that nothing happens other than my laptop restarting, but it is a bit agitating. I assumed the br
