Why does Microsoft family safety automatically lock my son's laptop when I turn on limits when no limit has been reached?

We recently purchased new laptops for our kids and my son's Lenovo automatically locks when I turn on limits. No limit has been reached. If I turn limits off I can sign in just fine. If I turn limits on it auto locks regardless of the time left. Please help. I need to be able to limit and moderate his computer.
