Why do I have so many files?

I full scan my PC once in a while if I get suspicious I might have downloaded something suspicious however I noticed that it's starting to get really long. Like a very long time to scan.Around 1 and a half year ago there was around 500k files when I use full scan1 year ago around 1.5M6 months ago is around 3MThis time I scanned and it was 4.8 million files, took a hour and 40 minutesWhy is the number so high? I don't think I have much games or work on the PC, I'm using a windows 11
