Why can't I reset my pin for hello login

I have forgotten the PIN to log in. I can't choose another sign-in option and put in a password. I have already tried selecting the option to reset the pin. When I get to the last step after already using the correct email and password I receive the Sorry something went wrong message". So then I select skip for now to skip resetting the pin hoping it will get me into the computer, and then I am sent back to the hello screen. So I am stuck and not able to reset my PIN. The laptop is connected to wifi while resetting the pin and the OS is Windows 11. Is there any way to resolve this?
