Why can't I receive the verification code for my microsoft account on the log in page of my windows computer?

I have a windows laptop, and in order to access my things in my laptop, I have to enter a verification code that I can not receive under any condition that I have tried. What I mean is usually people can access their laptop with entering their laptops password, but mine is different, I have to enter a verification code, and it shows that the code is supposed to be sent to my email. I have tried some methods that are shown on other peoples posts such as changing the wifi to hotspot and restarting, but it doesn't work. There aren't any ways that I can change a log in screen too.
