Why can't I connect to Wifi

Hello I am unable to connect to any wifi networks as each time I do a small window labelled Windows Security pops up requesting a User Name and Password, while I am not sure what to enter, it doesn't seem to matter as the pop up is always frozen and I can't enter characters into it.
