Why can I not change my Minecraft profile's details

For context, I am not in a family since I left, And I'm still unable to access my accounts privacy settings, I have spent around a hour trying to figure out what to do, I have tried to add people to the new family it forces you to join, but that doesn't work and if they accept the invite, they do not even join the family and it says they need to accept it again.I need to know what I'm doing wrong.
