Why are my headphones quiet when my microphone turns on.

Okay, I'm having trouble being able to hear like any sound whether it is music or anything. I make music and I have my on personal mic and also have the mic that is on my laptop, when I have the headphones unplugged everything sounds fine, the music, my voice and everything sounds normal, but when I plug in headphones the bass is not there the everything is more quiet then at "1 volume". I've looked in settings, try reset permissions on google but nothing. How do I fix this?
