Why are my desktop shortcuts displaying the user profile icon in place of the arrow icon?

Title says it all. For some reason, the user profile icon is showing up in place of the arrows underneath my desktop shortcuts. Doesn't seem to affect anything else (even shortcuts viewed in File Explorer are normal), but I am curious what is causing this to glitch out and how I can fix it. I'm using Windows 10 Pro.
