Where is the setting to auto capitalize the letter "i"??

I've been having a ton of problems with my keyboard lately and in trying to fix them by looking up different solutions I think I accidentally turned off the setting that auto-capitalized the letter "i." I don't remember what I had clicked on to get to this setting originally but I can't find where this would be now. I've tried looking this up several times and no one seems to know what I'm talking about or asking for. For now, I have just been using SHIFT + i but this isn't efficient when I'm trying to write emails and papers, and I have to consistently remember to also type SHIFT if I want a
