Where are my old Hotmail emails?

Hi, Microsoft recently changed my hotmail to outlook (in 2017). However, all my old hotmail emails are gone. I followed directions which were supposed to lead me to turning on All Messages, but never got there. Is there a simple way to restore my old hotmail messages? Thanks.
