When moving a large block of files (200 Gb) from one drive to another, in Windows 11, the last "5 seconds" can take up to 30-45 minutes

When moving a large block of files (200 Gb) from one drive to another, in Windows 11, the last "5 seconds" can take up to 30-45 minutes or more - in addition to the 3-4 hours to actually move the files. Why? does this happen Why estimate 5 seconds, then take way over 1/2 hour for an operation showing 99% complete?
