When I set my power button options both to sleep, the screen locks instead of going to sleep. Help?

I went into System>Power>Power and Sleep Button Controls, and set both options to Sleep (Pressing power button and pressing the sleep button) but instead of sleeping normally, it would lock the screen and still be on.Please help!
