When i check list of microphones, the headphones is not listed.

I have connected my earphones with inbuilt mic into my laptop. But its keeps using the laptop mic . When i check list of microphones, the headphones is not listed. How do i use my earphones mic when connected to PC? ps. It works fine on my phone
