When i am scrolling through my photographs on my laptop, the images that has been edited doesn't show up?

Please help, this is driving me crazy! After editing photographs in photoshop and saving as the same filename but with a letter or number on the end - when i am scrolling through all the images the edited one doesn't show up? It just ignores it and goes onto the next image although I can see the edited image in the thumbnail and find it to send but never shows up in the photo gallery when I'm going through them.
