I am having a issue when moving one application which was sending SMTP mail. The was to point the application to the Exchange server from Domino. Email were being delivered when the application was pointed to Domino. Unfortunately this wasn't the case when I pointed the application to Exchange. It is a on-premise Exchange server that sends out to O365. We are a Hybrid Exchange environment with no mailboxes on-premise.

All other applications that I have migrated from Domino to Exchange work. They all happily use the "Application Relay" connector.

The problem system is using the the "Frontend" connector.

It is trying to use

  • Default Frontend servername
  • Default Frontend servername
  • Client Frontend servername

Also it appears that for emails from this application they issue "EHLO smtp.availability.contoso.com".

I just don't understand why. I am also chasing up from the DB owner of the Oracle application to see their setup.

Any ideas?

Thanks
