What measures can be taken to fix a reset issue?

I did a reset to my ASUS PC. It was reset of all files. Now my keyboard and mouse are not working. Is there a way to fix this without taking a 10 year old computer to the shop? "I've already tried the; start the PC as windows attempts to load (spinning dots), press and hold power button for 5-10 seconds to perform hard shut down, twice, on third start windows will boot into recovery environment etc." Did not work. Someone, please help.
