What is causing my BSOD DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION?

So I have been using my pc for about a year now and no problems and then the computer started to freeze about a month ago. It would crash whenever I would play games. It would crash about an hour into playing a game but now its almost a few minutes into playing a game. The whole computer freezes and then I get a BSOD. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it, I start class on the 26th of Aug and I would like to have a computer to do my classwork on.DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION (133) The DPC watchdog detected a prolonged run time at an IRQL of DISPATCH_LEVEL or above.
