What Do I Do When Getting a New PC

I am getting a new gaming laptop and getting rid of my old gaming desktop PC. I want to get rid of everything on my windows account and start fresh on my new gaming laptop. I don’t want my windows account to have any of the games or files I had on it when I log into my windows account on my new laptop. Do I just go into recovery mode and clean the whole drive on my old desktop? What is the proper way to handle this situation?
