2 computers, same problem
Computer 1 (home PC):
Windows 10 Pro v1903 build 18362.476
Asus X370-Pro board with AMD Ryzen 7
Computer 2 (work PC)
Windows 10 Enterprise v1709 build 16299.1565
DELL Latitude 5591
Modem:
Tried two different modems but both use the same Win10 driver: Conexant USB CX93010 ACF Modem
1st modem was a cheap $20 USB.
2nd modem is a much better $50 USB, HIRO V.92
I have updated BIOS on both. No problems until I had to install a 56k USB Modem and Access Control software to manage an gate/door security system. The software is configured to run in compatibility mode for XP SP3 with Admin access. The software works perfectly fine until I am dialed-in to the security access control module and exchanging data. Sometimes it works fine until I click disconnect. Either way, while dialed in it exchanges packets, shows current status and randomly blue screens. I've not managed to have it work without ending in blue screen.
WDF_VIOLATION
bugcheck was: 0x0000010d (0x0000000000000005, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000001018, 0xffffba8348ef74c0)
This is the exact same situation and error on both computers except the last octet above is different.
If I am reading this correctly, the error is:
source: Bug Check 0x10D WDF_VIOLATION - Windows drivers
A framework object handle of the incorrect type was passed to a framework object method.
How on earth do I get around this? Do I need to go find a Win7 PC? Would a VM running Win7 work?
