Volume slider audio ding only occurs if a new volume is selected

Hello, I have this problem where I have to change the volume from something other than what I want the volume to be at to hear at what level I am setting the volume. For instance, I normally want my volume at one hundred percent. To hear the volume, I need to take the slider from 100% to 99% and let go of left click. The issue is sending my OCD through the roof.
