Volume display on Windows 10

After updating my system software today, and restarting my PC, I have a volume control window that floats on top of all other windows. It sits in the upper left corner of the screen. I can't figure out how to get rid of it. Here's a screenshot of the upper left corner of my screen. The black rectangle with blue line is what I'm trying to remove. Any suggestions?
