I have a HP G60 laptop bought in 2010 through Circuit City in New York. Windows Vista Home Premium was installed by the seller. i usually had no issues with windows features and updates when using this computer.
Last Saturday, the system was invited to proceed with Windows updates. The usual screen stating "configuring updates: stage 3 of 3 - 0% complete. Do not turn off your computer" showed up. Then, I waited, and waited, and waited until a blue screen showed up telling that a problem occured during the updating process.
I then tried to reboot to always arrive at the same sreen. I tried to reboot with safe mode, same results.
Since then, the laptop tries to reboot by itself every 10 minutes always arriving at the same screen like if it was being caught in an endless loop.
With F8 key pressed while the computer is trying to reboot, I could read a statement like "should use the windows configuration disk to reboot". This disk is something that was not provided to me when I bought the computer.
Will this disk resolve the issue?
What should I do to have this issue fixed?
