I have suddenly run into the problem where every third thing I try to install
comes with the message "the requested operation requires elevation". I have
only been able to find solutions for Vista Business and ULTIMATE versions but
my home premium OS is doing it too. Any ideas what to do? I am getting fed up
fast and the software that I am downloading is driver related (modem ect)
from Microsoft affiliated sites??!!

If the 'operation requires elevation' this means it needs administrator
privileges. Just right click on the setup file of the software you are
downloading and, from the drop down menu, select the 'run as administrator'
option. The software should then install in elevated mode.
