Vista didn't shut down normally and now will only boot up in safe mode

I put my computer in hibernate. But....it didn't shut down. I came back to it an hour later and Kaspersky said it needed to be updated. I did this and then ran Malwarebytes (Malwarebytes found no Malware). I then went to shut down. But the computer just went black and never shut down.

I then did a forced shutdown. The computer did turn off, but then it would only get to a certain place in startup and get stuck. I had a pointer and black screen...but after many many minutes the computer would not bootup.

I then tried in safe mode...and it booted up.


I have tried to boot in safe mode over and over again...but will not work.
