Hi. I so hope someone can please help. MS Tech Support hasn't yet been able to.
I have had this issue since July 2015. At first I noticed it when a picture was sent to print, but nothing happened. then I discovered that it was not possible to print IE web pages (I am not meaning document downloads, pdf, word etc are ok). There is no issue using Chrome for web printing or using Open With and choosing Picasso for pictures. Using print preview produces the following the screen shot below. Without using preview, the print options dialogue box appears, click ok, the box closes - then nothing happens.
Message from webpage. There was an internal error, and Internet Explorer is unable to print this document.
Now the strange things is that in a case like this I would use system restore - but when I visited that utility - there were no restore points at all. I am diligent re settings and backing files up. I have used System Restore on several occasions on this machine it was rather peculiar that on this occasion there were no restore points at all. See screen shot of current - when this first started the list was empty! Shame as I might not be so frustrated now.
As I have a 'workaround' of using Chrome and Picasso, the issue has not been pressing, but irritating. I have searched the web and tried loads of fixes over the past five months. But nothing has fixed it. This included obvious things like printer drivers, uninstalling IE11 and going back to IE10, repairing and reinstalling .net Framework, checking for the Low folder in Temp, resetting IE, ticking Use Software rendering in IE Advanced options, and a plethora of others things.
Yesterday I used my complimentary session MS Contact Answer Desk - after 4 different advisers and 6 hours no solution. I paid for the MS Support Service to have the issue escalated. Today the first advisor spent 40 minutes doing what the previous ones had done, then escalated. The next adviser had control of my machine from 3:30pm until 8pm and still no fix.
Please someone - I can't be the only person who has had this issue. Please can someone help. My PC hates me. I do not want to upgrade to Win 10 as this is incompatible with some of the specialised business software I use.
