Using my copy of Office 2007 in a new computer

I am planning to purchase a new computer running Windows 10.

I have a copy of Office Home & Student 2007 which I bought. Can I use this in the new machine?

I have been told that it would have to be in Compatible mode, -could someone please explain that to me?

(I only use Word, OneNote and Excel).
