Using HDMI or USB-A ports to get more USB-C ports for multi-displays

I can set up two monitors successfully on my HP EliteBook 640 14 inch G11 Notebook PC using the two USB-C ports on the left side; but then I cannot charge the Notebook while using the 2 external screens. I bought an HDMI adapter (4K 60 Hz) so that another USB-C would be available, thinking the HDMI port would support another screen - it did not work. I tried the same with the USB-A port on the right and left side and it also did not work. Is there something I can do or change in the software to get this working?
