I have some USB SATA enclosures and one EIDE enclosure. My old 12TB hard disk had it rough as for a long time I could not find a USB SATA enclosure to place the disk into. The old boxes topped out at 8TB. Finally a SATA enclosure surfaced that can handle my 12TB disk,.Now I ordered a 28TB hard disk and I am worried about more capacity problems. The ATA6 standard goes back to the EIDE and LBA48 was established to push the hard disk limits far away after the age of transition from DOS to FAT32 and NTFS. Now UEFI and GPT is available and 18EB volumes are interesting. I hate limitations.
