USB ports on laptop with Win 10 stop working - fix and work for a while - then stop again!!

Using Windows 10 laptop with 3 USB ports. For the past 6 months the USB ports have been acting weird... they stop working and fix them and then a few days later they stop working again. Have tried the troubleshooting mode with no luck. Also tried disabling and re-enabling... doesn't work. Uninstalling then re-installing the drivers fixes it but then a few days later they stop working again. This is driving me crazy!! Also check a tip that power management settings could be causing this but the settings were okay. Any more suggestions?? Thanks.
