USB mic not working on lenovo ideapad pro 5 , windows 11

I have recently purchased a windows 11 laptop.I am trying to record audio using my Amazon basics USB mic. The mic is detected, but when I use any recorder app, it says "No audio Input source available".I have tried all the steps mentioned in the following link, but to no avail. Redirecting Setting- System - Sound - input, i can see the mic listed, but the volume is zero. Infact, I cant even change the volume using the drag scroll selection.Please help.
