USB extension board stops working after installing update KB5048667

[Windows 11]

I purchased my PC a year ago with a USB PCI extension card with 5 USB ports. Its been working fine up to the installation of update KB5048667. Since the installation on 11 December 2024, the USB extension board no longer works. I have tried all the usual; Driver update, deleting all the USB drivers from the Device manager, reboots, moving the USB card to a different PCI slot etc. KB5048667 introduced new drivers for this device.In the Device Manager, I get "VIA USB3 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft) with a yellow warning triangle on the icon.
