USB device not recognized error: Need to sign winusb.sys?

We have two questions with reference to Windows Driver signing policy specified at: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/install/kernel-mode-code-signing-policy--windows-vista-and-later-

  1. We have a device which uses the WinUSB.sys (built in Windows driver) to connect to PC through USB. Do we have to sign the Windows’s winusb.sys file to make this device work ?
  2. If yes, then do we have to re-register/validate the Windows’s winusb.sys file and the corresponding .cat file (customized per our device requirements), with Windows Hardware Dev Center?
