Upgrading a Win10 Laptop with external monitor and HD

My wife's laptop is "eligible". That is it passes all the tests and on the update screen it's waiting for me to do the upgrade.I do have a MS365 family subscription and all the apps are installed.Question is, can I leave my external monitor and SSD HD ( that I use for EaseUS backups) connected when I do the upgrade?My only concern is loosing those settings.TIA -L.
