All,
I had purchased a Dell XPS 15 laptop in 2012 with the following specifications:
Windows 7 Pro
Intel i7 2.2 GHz Processor
8 GB RAM
changed the Hard disk 512 GB Samsung EVO SSD 1 year ago
However, recently (last 1 month) the computer has been running very slow (and with very slow wifi/internet speeds, most times less than 1 mbps on a 16mbps connection) and the fan constantly running at full speed and Battery showing "Consider replacing your battery" message.
Please advise what should i do to make my machine run as fast as earlier?
- Will replacing battery with a new one help?
- Should i upgrade to Window 10 from my current Win 7 Pro to have better performance?
- Is overheating of machine internals (processor) making my machine slow? Do i need to clean the machine/fan inside for better cooling?
I am not looking at replacing my computer for at least another 2 years.
Thanks,
Mayur
