Updating to Windows 11, version 24H2 from Windows 11 Pro 23H2

Hello.I am wanting to update my Windows 11 Pro 23H2 system to version 24H2.Is it straightforward to apply the update over the existing system, keeping my programs and settings?Does this method have any downsides, compared to installing a complete fresh install and not keeping programs and settings?Thanks for advice.Regards,CrVMo
