Updates Causing Major Problems Again?

A few weeks ago, a MS update caused crashes/freezes/slowdowns on my HP notebook. But yesterday's update (1/2/2023) caused far worse problems. I was cleaning and inspecting the notebook with Revo Uninstaller Pro tools and Windows tools which rarely cause serious issues. Yesterday, the freezes were so bad that twice, I had to remove the notebook's battery and unplug the power cord for about 15 minutes to try and get online again. I had to manually shut down several times. I thought it was dying! This went on for about 8 hours! Finally, a miracle may have come when the sign-on screen finally came
