w/e the newest updates are, they automatically install when i shut of my
computer. then, when i boot it up again the next day, vista does a system
restore to before the updates were installed. the updates then reinstall the
next time i shut off, and the same thing keeps happening. short of stopping
updates forever, how can i fix this/ whats the problem?

and i did try turning the computer on, doing nothing, and shutting it off,
just to make sure its the updates causing the restore, not some program i
downloaded or anything like that.
thanks

Please see this page http://dts-l.net/goodpost.htm then post back to this
thread with the information we'd need to be able to assist you properly
(e.g., Vista or Vista SP1? Is this a sudden, new problem? ...)
