I recently upgraded the BIOS on my motherboard because I was having pretty severe hardware issues. Those problems disappeared, however now as of July 8th, Windows 7 can no longer determine whether it is a genuine copy or not. I don't doubt that it is genuine, because this particular PC also came with Windows 8 Pro but pre-installed with Windows 7 Pro. However, I have looked everywhere and I have no COA for Windows 7 Pro whatsoever. I'm assuming that's because it was OEM SLP. There is however a genuine sticker for Windows 8 Pro on the pc so that has led me to believe that Windows 7 Pro is not counterfeit either. Is it possible that upgrading my BIOS was what triggered this sudden "non-genuine" issue? Is it possible that this was SLIC activated with whatever was on the older version of BIOS or am I completely off here?
I honestly don't know where to go with this because my computer tech support was not helpful at all and I'd rather not wipe my computer and install Windows 8 only for it to have the same issues if it is due to the BIOS upgrade.
Here is the diagnostic report I got from using the tool Microsoft provided. Any insight would be much appreciated.
