Update of windows 11 Home using Legit Windows 10 Pro Key failed

I bought an Windows 10 home to pro upgrade from a legitimate company I have used before, but when i try to activate it, I get "the product key didn't work". Shouldn't the Windows 10 upgrade work on my Windows 11 installation?
