Update Assistant will not update my PC to the latest version of Windows 10

Since my Settings fails to load, I try using the Update Assistant to update to the latest version of Windows 10. Every time the update says it is ready and I restart accordingly, it restarts and shows the blue screen with the progress of the update as normal; however, after some time, the screen goes black and shows "Undoing changes made to your computer" with the loading sign, and then starts the laptop as usual, having not updated to the latest version.


I am unaware of what could be prompting the changes being "undone", as my computer is plugged in and so on. I would love a technical solution to the problem if anyone could help.
