Greetings,
There is a closed thread Q & A in the Microsoft Community Which I can't reply to which if I could it would probably give me the answer to the question that I have, related to the question directly. The question's Subject*
*Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) Driver Error
mine is close but it's not about the same device as theirs. My USB Device is a Realtek USB WI-FI Wireless Network Adapter.
And in Settings under Devices then Bluetooth and other devices it 1st reads: Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed then underneath that it reads: Driver Error. > Just in case that helps.
* Closed thread: On a certain audio device that wasn't working in their Device Manager under their Universal Serial Bus Controllers - it reads: *Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed). So they were told the 2nd option to fix this problem is:
Method 2: Disable and re-enable all the Universal Serial Bus controllers (USB) controllers.
The USB controllers represent the USB ports in Device Manager.
To disable and re-enable the USB controllers, follow these steps:
a) Open Device Manager.
b) Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
c) Note: You might have to scroll down the list to find this item.
d) Right-click the first USB controller under Universal Serial Bus controllers, and then click Uninstall to remove it.
e) Repeat the above step for each USB controller that is listed under Universal Serial Bus controllers.
f) Restart the computer. After the computer starts, Windows will automatically scan for hardware changes and
g) Reinstall all the USB controllers that you uninstalled.
WELL, my question to this is (before I also try this), because these are basically the same problem. When it's at the bottom of Method 2: after f) then g) states: Reinstall all the USB controllers that you uninstalled. Does this mean Windows will automatically scan for hardware changes and
reinstall all the USB controllers that you uninstalled? SEE, because the way it's written g) Reinstall all the USB controllers that you uninstalled. I'm questioning the capital R in Reinstall. Does it mean Windows will reinstall all the USB controllers that you uninstalled? Or I have to reinstall all the USB controllers that I uninstalled?
Respectively, Barry
