I installed Windows 7 RC 64 bit to dual boot with my Windows XP Pro 32 bit.

I now want to uninstall Win 7 64 bit as it will be moot in a couple of

months.

I was told to use the Win 7 install disc and in XP type "x\boot\bootsect.exe

/nt52 ALL /force." I kept getting a note that \boot\bootsect.exe is not a

Win32 application. I then realized that my 32 bit XP could not run 64 bit

applications.

Can someone tell me how to get rid of the Win 7 RC and keep my XP?

Thanks.

BTW I do have Windows 7 on another computer.

You're a brave man, installing an RC version on a machine with a working

copy of WinXP. The usual method is to use a separate hard disk. They don't

cost much these days.

Is WinXP located on its own partition? Which one? and where is Windows 7? If

they have their own partitions then you could blow away the Windows 7

partition, then restore the WinXP boot environment.

Start Windows XP and use Disk Management to reformat the partition Windows 7

is installed on. Edit the boot.ini file to remove the reference to Win 7:
