Unable to sign back into computer using Microsoft account

I signed out of my Microsoft account on my pc. Upon attempting to sign back in I was prompted to enter the corresponding email ("Sign in") and password ("Enter password") associated with that account. I entered the correct password and was subsequently prompted to enter my "current windows password" ("Sign in to this computer using your Microsoft account"). I entered the same password I did before (as it was my current windows password), but it was apparently incorrect: "This password you have entered for your device is incorrect. Please try again.".I tried multiple times, updated Windows 10,
