Unable to remove a defunct family member account

Due to a defunct account connected to mine, I have Microsoft Family Safety enabled. This is rather annoying as I also have to pay extra for Microsoft 365 Family, even if only I use it.I go to Family Safety, I click on the three dots and I then select Remove from family group. The menu prompt says:Are you sure you want to remove [redacted]?You'll no longer be able to manage their Family Safety settings and [redacted] will lose access to Family Safety features.The two options below consist of Remove and Cancel.
