Unable to log into Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Tablet running Windows 10 - no way to create password reset disk - reset doesn't work

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Tablet running Windows 10. I *thought* I connected my Microsoft account to the device, but now when I try to log in, even though it shows the correct profile pic, it just has "user" as the name and won't accept my MS password. My MS account shows the device, so it's clear I've connected it at some point. The computer does have access to the internet.Things I have tried:I put in a password hint, but the password that matches the hint doesn't work either.
