Unable to insert photo in Word doc

Hello, I recently installed Word 2024 for personal use (non-subscription) on my 2024 Macbook Pro (running Sequoia 15.0) and I am unable to insert photos/images into Word documents. On my previous version I was able to drag and drop into a doc. I've tried that as well as the Insert tab. I have tried changing the file type, but still no luck. Do you have suggestions? Thank you in advance for your input.
